MTL SHOW!
hey all, we’re playing a show in mtl at the Death Church on march 5th, with Show of Bedlam and Courteau. This will be Courteau’s first show, but i can assure you total doomlord supremacy (and i can do that because i heard their practice tapes). Expect super harsh, noisy low end crush, more distortion than you had previously thought possible, and the most brutal, sickening death metal vocals Montreal has to offer. not to be missed.

interviews with Lurker’s Path and Mortem webzines, respectively, from a while back. don’t read them in too close succession because we don’t have much new to say.
new record is on the cusp of being wrestled into shape. preview “By Mycomancy Insumed” on our myspace. (although if you’re here, you probably came from there, so don’t let me send you into a hell of endless regression).
lyrics for it up in Incantations.

if you live in Montréal, the Canadian Centre for Architecture exhibit Journeys: How Traveling Fruits, Ideas, and Buildings Rearrange Our Environment started last month, and is probably really interesting, if you’re interested in thinking about the social and political activities of nonhuman actors.

the idea of north
“the history of the north begins in rumors out of the dark – a magician riding on an arrow, emissary from the place of perpetual daylight; women who share the nature of swans, who are blind and live in the night of perpetual winter; a sea beach in endless fog where blood poured on the sand can summon the dead; a brilliant sea of wandering translucent crystal; a shadowless, treeless place where a unicorn’s horn can be found washed up onto a black beach…and of course, the most horrible of the prisons of the damned in dante is northern, icy, darkened by frosty mist. the last three cantos of the inferno are set in the frozen lake, where those who have broken the last taboo of medieval society and betrayed state or family are frozen into the ice of their own selfishness”
extract from the idea of north (topographics) by peter davidson. this book was partly inspired by the idea of north, the first part of a trilogy of radio documentaries about solitude by canadian pianist glenn gould. you can listen to an excerpt here.
